SEP, Milwaukee

Spiritual Enrichment Program (SEP)

SEP is founded in Milwaukee by a group of committed and dedicated individuals who wanted the treasure of Vedantic knowledge to be within an easy reach of seekers. By inviting knowledged and kind Swamijis to Milwaukee area, organising Vedantic discourses, Gita study groups, Upanishadic expositions and Satsangs, SEP intends to help spiritual seekers in their sadhana and swadhyaya. It is because of SEP that many people like us got introduced to great and kind swamijis, who are eager to share their knowledge with us. Generally, these are organised in the Jain Temple, in the Hindu Temple of Wisconsin premises in Milwaukee.

Some of the Swamijis we had the privilege of hosting are:

1. Swami Tadatmananda of Arsha Bodha Center, New Jersey
2. Swami Brahmarupananda of Sri Ramakrishna Mission/Vedanta Society of Greater Washington DC, MD
3. Swami Pratyagbodhananda of Arsha Vidya Gurukulam, Saylorsburg, PA
4. Swami Tattvavidananda of Arsha Vidya Gurukulam, Saylorsburg, PA
5. Swami Adhyatmananda of Sivananda Ashram, Ahmedabad, India

The Satsangs with Swamijis are very person-person and Swamijis enquire about the spiritual sadhana of almost each of us. Since it is a small gathering, any doubts can be clarified without bothering about time, or people.

Milwaukee is 2 hours drive from Chicago. Any of you who would want to participate in this program, please contact Dr Anil Aggarwal. For specific dicourses, interested seekers drive from Chicago to Milwaukee. If any of you live in Chicago, please take an opportunity to come to Milwaukee and get acquainted with Swamijis.

Regular Meeting hours:
The Study group meets every Sunday at 3:15 pm at the Jain Temple lecture hall for a 1-1.5 hour study of ‘Tattva Bodha’. We listen to Swami Paramarthanandaji’s lecture for an hour followed by lively discussion of the concepts covered. ‘Tattva Bodha’ is a Prakarana Grantha that is like a Quick step guide to learn the principles of Vedanta. It is in the form of an interesting question-and-answer session between a student and his teacher.

Upcoming Special Events:
Shivaratri Special Talks by Swami Paramarthananda on Sunday, Feb 22nd 2009
3:15 – 4:30 PM: Importance of “Shiva Ratri”
4:30 – 5:45 PM: Significance of “Sri Rudram”
